🧥 QC checklist for jackets and winter coats
Last updated: 2026-10-23
Quick answer
For a jacket or coat, the critical points are the size, no tears and working zippers. Then check the shoulder and cuff seams, even filling (on puffers), the lining and the snaps. If there’s no photo of the zipper done up, ask for one.
- 1
Right item and variant Critical
Compare the model, colour and variant with the listing and with what you ordered.
- 2
Size label matches your order Critical
Find the label in the photos. If you can’t see it, ask for a photo of the label.
- 3
No stains, holes or tears Critical
Zoom in on every photo. Small stains show up best on light-coloured areas.
- 4
Zippers complete and aligned Critical
Ideally a photo with the zipper done up. Bent teeth or a broken pull = exchange.
- 5
Even filling (puffers) Important
Look for flat spots or clumps in the baffles.
- 6
Lining intact Important
Ask for a photo of the inside if it isn’t included.
- 7
Solid shoulder and cuff seams Important
These take the most strain when you wear it.
- 8
Colour as expected Important
Warehouse lighting shifts tones a bit. If you’re unsure, ask for a daylight photo.
- 9
Buttons and snaps all there Minor
Count the buttons and look for spares.
Mark every point to see the verdict.
Frequently asked questions
+Can I vacuum-pack a puffer coat?
Usually, yes, and it saves a lot of volume. When it arrives, shake it out and let it air for a day so it gets its loft back.
+How do I check a zipper in a QC photo?
Ask for a photo with the zipper done up from top to bottom. If the two sides don’t line up, there may be a defect.
